FTP Folder View Options

Hello all, this is my first post in this forum, and I would like to thank you all for the useful articles and tutorials I've found on this website!

I regularly connect to several FTP sites for work every day, and while Filezilla is useful, more often than not I find myself using the integrated ftp folder navigation in Explorer. However, in Windows 7 the default folder view for ftp folders is Tiles view, which is not very practical in my case. I set it to Details view, but when I go to Folder Options->View and try to "Apply to Folders", the button is greyed out! So basically I have to choose "Details view" for every folder I navigate to.

Does anyone know how I can apply "Details view" to all FTP and Internet folders in Windows 7? Is there a registry key I can modify for this?

Thanks!!!

Hello domdada,

Welcome to 7 Forums.

Don't know of any way to make the settings stick. Best I can do is the alt>v>d keyboard shortcut to give details for a folder. Might be easier than mouse clicks. Sorry. :(

Hm... what registry keys are modified when selecting the details view? Maybe there's a default one that's applied every time a new ftp folder is visited, and changing that would have the desired effect...
