nVidia GeForce 8500 GT Dual Screen ?
Hi,
I recently got a projector from a friend and im trying to setup dual screen.
First of all im a bit confused by the Graphics Card itself. I looked for pictures of the card which my computer recognizes as a nVidia GeForce 8500 GT and none have a HDMI port but mine does. So i opened the case and the card has ATI and Foxconn written on it but nothing with nVidia on it.
I have a HDMI to VGA cable which im trying to use to go to my monitor but when i plug it in while switched on i get nothing on the monitor but the projector still works and if i plug it in then boot I get no output on my monitor and just just a black screen and the mouse pointer on my monitor.
I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Find what? Hit start and type Connect, and click on Connect to a Projector. Alternatively, hold the Windows key and hit P.

What do you mean nothing?
It doesn't help or literally, nothing shows on the screen that pops open?

Try right-clicking on the desktop and hit Screen Resolution. From there you can also setup dual monitors.

No, it only says I have the one display which is the Projector which is called "Generic non-PnP Monitor"

So the other monitor is not detected. Are the card's drivers up-to-date?

No its not detecting it. Yes all the drivers are up to date. I was wondering if it has identified it wrong, Windows says its a nVidia card but it has ATI and Foxconn on it and doesnt have the same outputs as any pic of the nVidia GeForce 8500 GT i have seen. My card has a DVI, HDMI and a TV Ariel connector on it.
