I moved it to the left side of the screen and now my date is gone. How do I get it back? Thanks.

There is, but it's checked. The clock is showing, it's just the date that disappeared. I tried unchecking and checking the clock, but that didn't bring the date back.

Does the date come back if you move the taskbar back to the bottom of the screen? I know the date won't show if the taskbar is at the bottom, and you have Use small icons checked. It should show on the side though with either small or large icons. Can you post a screenshot of it not showing the date?

I'm using the large icons. It reappears when I put the taskbar back on the bottom, but it was also there on the left side for several days when I originally moved the taskbar. Then all of a sudden I noticed it was gone.

One way is to drag the taskbar a little wider. But that will take up more desktop space. The date format is too wide for a sidebar. Otherwise you could try going to the date and time settings and see if you can get one of the shorter format to work.

Ah, ok. I've got a 24" WS monitor so I have plenty of horizontal real estate. Lemme give those suggestions a try and see what happens. Thanks.

Ha! Worked perfectly. Just widened it barely a skosh. Simple solution. Thanks again!

Nothing else worked, try this. Click on the time, then change date and time settings. Maybe, lets hope.

Personally, I prefer to not have the Windows clock show at all, and use ClockX instead. It can be configured show as to show as much data as the Windows clock, and in a fashion more pleasing to me, without taking up space on the taskbar.

Since ClockX runs on Windows time and is synched to a time server, I can't see any point in having the taskbar clock, especially since it is digital and I prefer analog. With my eyesight, it is much easier to read a fair size analog clock than to squint at the taskbar. A couple of other things that I like about ClockX is that it has a second hand, which I find handy at times, and I have it set to become transparent when mousing over it, in case it blocks something that I need to see. I also have a digital clock on Opera that I sometimes use. But the majority of the time, I use my wallcock, because it is 24" in diameter, and sits above my computer station, and I keep it set manually via the computer's time.

One last comment - I changed the date format as suggested. I changed it from 12/29/2009 to 12/29/09. This enabled me to resize the taskbar back to its normal width. Cool.

Date disappeared all of a sudden...?!?!?

Woke up today, turned on the computer and no date!
Time is still there. I went into the setting and the short and long dates are of the style I desire, it just wont show up!
I have grown accustom to the date being there and I would like to figure out how to get it back!?

Thanks for any and all help!
