So I kinda gave in when my Income tax thingie came back, and bought the ATI 4870 1GB so yay me [twirls finger]

I thought it'd be interesting to see what cards everyone else has.

and are you pro-Nvidia or pro-ATI and why?

Running a GTX 295 on my main rig and a ATI 4850 on the secondary rig. I've owned both sides but lean more towards Nvidia because of their better drivers IMO. Although I think ATI has been doing a much better job with their drivers since they were bought by AMD.

I picked up a 4850 as a temporary card when I built this rig. That was 4 months ago. It's my first ATI card and even though it's a mid-range card, I've been quite happy with it.

Catalyst drivers can be hit or miss, but then again, I've used some Nvidia shockers too. I'm still debating wheter to stay with ATI or go back to Nvidia with the next card. Both have good cards now.

I've always liked Nvidia, never had a reason to try out ATI, I'm not pro either, I just stick with what works. I suppose I go with the one that is cheaper/cooler/faster if thats possible.

Although I do have an ATI card in my nintendo wii if that counts ;)

i have an X800GTO 256mb (what a great card) it will play COD4 all day long, this card served me well for many years....

i have a ZOTAC 8800GT AMP 512mb (super performer) this is the highest factory clocked 88GT out there, with better performance than most of the GTS range.

& i have an XFX GTX260 BLACK EDITION (ultimate powerhouse) this card is a monster!!

i prefer Nvidia to ATI it has to be said, but back in the day Nvidia could not compete with the ATI offerings, they dont make em like they used to....or maybe they do, but Nvidia just make them better....lol :p

its a continual ''work in progress''....
, but back in the day Nvidia could not compete with the ATI offerings,
:)SK

...and then ATI could not compete with Nvidia, then Nvidia were behind ATI again then someone released a good driver, someone released a bad one..... notice the trend? :D

I'm liking the 285 /295 as a purchase, but ATI do have new cards coming out soonish.... Times like this it would be easier to be brand biased :)

@ Spartan117 - the 4870 is still a great card ;)

haha thanks
Hey if anyone wants, I have a 4850 that I no longer need if someone wants a newer card or for Crossfire.

But yeah I was always like Pro Nvidia ATI hissss but i have to say having this card really like put a fish hook in my mouth and dragged me the other way. It is kinda daunting though seeing these games come up and it saying BUILT FOR NVIDIA and im like=/ i've betrayed you haha
