Connecting to an HP C4580 printer

Using a Toshiba Nb205 mini notebook with windows 7 starter. Trying to connect to a printer on my home desktop that is running Windows XP. The notebook could not find the printer but it found the router and i have internet access. The printer also has built in wifi but the notebook does not detect it either. Any solutions?

Is the XP PC set to share the printer? File and printer sharing need to be enabled and the XP PC and W7 notebook need to be in the same "workgroup".
