(W7) Gears of War - Error installing

Hey

Ive been trying to install Gears of War for a while now, ive changed the compatibility/ran as administrator, asked google for helps, but still cant get it to work. Error im getting is:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a similar problem where I cannot install, I keep getting error 1610 and I tried every which way to solve it!

I am using windows 7 64bit and having a little trouble getting gears of war online, well signing into live on gears of war, i have dirt 2 which is windows live and i use the exact same details trying to sign in when i use dirt 2 and it work's, but for some reaosn gears doesent want to sign me in , i had the error message pop up saying that i couldent run it becouse the exe. file or osmething anywayz this is temporarly fixed by chaning your date to something under 2009, i then had a stopped working message, i have fixed this by launching the game from its origanal place which is program files x86 microsoft games gears of war binaries, then hit start game, this seemed to fix it for now, but i have the problem with signing into live now !, im not sure if this is becouse the date is wrong on my desktop, i will try it now and post another comment on this particaular topic

right ok, that dident work, primarerly becouse the date needs to be set to a percific time as i mentioned in the other post for me to be able to get into the game
The bottem line is, they need to get a fix for the expired certificate error message, then the game will be able to run fine and i would not have any problem's !
so i guess i wont be playing gow for a little bit
but if anyone has any resolvement off the expired certificate error message please reply to my post !
me and ALOT of people are desprate for it to get fixed, you can fix it by changing the date to anything under 2009, but this doesent stop the error message sometimes so go to where the file is located in my first post, and try run the game from its original location, this is only if you wana play the single player if your bored or like to play the single player , yes multiplyer is fun but a fix for that is somewhere but not yet known, atleast i dont think it is, not yet atleast , so please if anyone knows a fix for the EXPIRED CERTIFICATE ERORR MESSAGE please let me know a fix and reply to this post

I've just installed the game without any problems, although installation took almost half an hour.

I've then installed the "Gears of War Revised Patch" and the "Gears of War Certification Patch" which I found on Gamespot.

Haven't played on highest graphics before. Game runs just perfect.

SET it back to Feb 2008,Do this before you install it,if you wanna save game try creating an offline account if possible, the game was designed to work with older versions of Windows Live
