Cant get gadgets to stay working... very frustrating

I had this problem in beta and recently I formatted to a full version of 7 and it still continues.

I have multiple gadgets that will work for the first couple of weeks then will stop working out of no where (no changes made that should effect them working that I know of). None of them connect or receive any data and just sit on my desktop.

I have tried:
Enabling UAC to default
AllowElevatedProcess in registry

Any suggestions to get them working? This is one of my only problems I have with win7.

If a gadget doesn't actually do anything, then it's not a gadget, it's a pile of crap sitting on your desktop, and there would be nothing to stop working.
Please explain your problem in detail, provide screenshots if needed, update your system specs; and on a sidenote, there's NO WAY to make changes that DO NOT influence a gadget.
If you change the date, the calendar won't keep displaying the old one; can I be any more simplistic? No!

The gadgets arent connecting. Another problem I have which may be a coincidence or not is that I am unable to upload photos to places such as imageshack or photobucket (fails every time no matter what image).

I attached a screenshot of the right side of my desktop which contains the gadgets.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is clear that you have a problem with your internet connection.
But the weather gadget shows something I have experienced before for no apparent reason, so let's test something:

Close all the gadgets on the desktop and make sure the sidebar.exe process is closed in the task Manager. Then go to C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar and take ownership of wlsrvc.dll
Back up the .dll somewhere just in case, then download the attachment View attachment wlsrvc.rar I provided and extract it to the Windows Sidebar folder, overwriting the original .dll
Then try and start the Weather gadget again.

One more thing I need to ask? Is this a new install of Windows 7? Did you upgrade from Vista or did a Clean install of 7?

Turn off Windows Firewall and see whether this makes all the difference.

If it does you just need to create a rule to allow Gadgets to penetrate the firewall ;)

I did the wlsrvc.dll thing but that didnt help. This was an 'upgrade install' from windows 7 RC. I had to call microsoft and have them help me use my code.

Turn off Windows Firewall and see whether this makes all the difference.

Same problem with firewall turned off :(

edit - Im 95% sure I know why they were not working. Occasionally to get around download limits I would use Internet Explorer with a proxy. I just figured this out because they started working all of a sudden (I just put in a working proxy). This also explains them all of a sudden not working. Yay! :) Didnt know the gadgets depended on IE

when I ran the rc I specifically recal it saying that you would have to do a fresh instal of 7, but you could upgrade older versions of windows to 7 (ironically it said vista was incompatible with upgrade (but it was 32 to 64...)

so I'm suprised MS 'helped' you upgrade from rc7 and didn't tell you to instal older windows, then upgrade.

I have one network gadget that will 'turn off' if I am downloading alot of stuff at once. Basically the graph stops working and the numbers all say 0. closing/reopening it or reboot make it come back. Who knows.

Yes it is true many Gadgets depend on IE (Internet Explorer) to work properly for accessing the Internet. Especially our SevenForums Gadget ;)
