I have Windows Media center 7, Pinnacle 800i tuner card that recognizes QAMclear and a FIOS STB (QIP 2500-03) and FIOS remote.
Before MCE7 starts searching for the TV Signal it clearly states to make sure my IR receiver and remote are activated, STB is plugged, etc. etc. I assumed that meant my STB and FIOS remote.
MCE 7 recognizes the tuner after the channel scan (when it tells me to choose a channel I can see a preview stream on channel 3), I choose that option and hit next, but then when it comes to the IR Receiver it says IR receiver not recognized. Try again.
If I purchase an IR receiver, will I also need a matching remote control and give up the FIOS remote? I don't have the money to be guessing, so I was hoping someone else had this situation occur. It seems to me you would need a remote that is MCE 7 compatible as well as compatible with the IR receiver.
I did find a pinnacle remote for $38 from tigerdirect, com that I think will work.
