Ok I want to take the I.T. course at UCF as my major. But I didn't get accepted. My backup school is FGCU but they don't have I.T.. Instead they have Computer information systems and computer science. Both programs I don't want. My question is if I go to FGCU what courses should I take my first 2 years so I would be able to transfer to UCF to do I.T.

I guess something to do with networking and computer management. Here a link to the courses in the I.T. program at FAU. I'm waiting to hear from them. So I'm basicly wandering does it really matter if I go to FAU or FGCU first since I want to transfer to UCF anyways?

Hi all
with retrenchment in I.T and stuff being offshored like CRAZY to India etc I wouldn't advise a career in I.T at the present time.
By all means gain knowledge about computers but as a full time career I'd vote against it.
I have some colleagues who work as SAP consultants -- a few years ago this type of stuff was paying as much as 1800 USD a DAY (per 8 hrs).
Now some of these guys are lucky to find contracts paying 600 USD a day and that is for working LONGER and doing much more complex stuff. A lot of these guys have been out of work for 6 months or more recently.
Go into something like Engineering -- especially with alternative reneweable Energy being HOT right now or if you must stay in IT go into something like Solutions Archtecture or some type of "techno management gabble speak".
Staying purely technical is a guarantee of Long Hours and long periods out of work.
Cheers
