Vista64 Seven Upgrade Problem

I recently got Windows Seven. I tried to install, and got an error like this after the checking compatibility thing finished, which took about 10 minutes.

Error:
The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.

  • [*] For these items, make the following changes:

  • Uninstall these programs. Open Control Panel and search for "uninstall a program".

    • [*] Intel PROSet/Wireless

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Attempt to uninstall Intel PROSet/Wireless:

I go to uninstall this program that is interfering. The program is in the Uninstall Programs list, but unlike EVERY other program on the list, this one does not have an uninstall or change button. It has completely nothing. Ive looked in Program Files and found a folder called "Intel" with network drivers in it, but I dont know if I should manully uninstall it by deleting that. And if your wondering, I have no cd drive. My cd drive cracked out long ago, so I am not going to be restoring at all.

Not really a problem, but some programs wont work with Win 7?

Upgrading Windows will affect the following devices and/or programs:

  • These devices might not work properly after the upgrade. Before upgrading, we recommend updating the drivers for these devices. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers", or go to the device manufacturer's website to search for updated drivers.

    • [*] Storage controllers: AU08FXOT IDE Controller

      [*] LibUSB-Win32 Devices: PSP Type B

  • These programs might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend uninstalling these programs before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel, and search for "uninstall a program". (Note: Programs marked as * can be safely reinstalled after the upgrade.)

    • [*] Daemon Tools

[*] iTunes (Please deauthorize computer prior to upgrade)

Thanks if you took the time to read this post. Please reply to me as soon as possible. I am not really concerned with DTools and iTunes not working, so just answer my real question. How the hell am I going to install Windows 7 now?

This is the premier uninstaller known to the members of 7 forums

Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs, Solve uninstall problems

Uninstall what you can and then report back.

If there are problems you can do a clean install, which formats everything.

I will get the infomation for a clean install, everything will be formatted away.

If that is the way you want to go, you do not have to uninstall anything else at this point.

Confused.

On Revo Uninstaller, the Intel Proset Wireless program is not anywhere to be found. Any further help, or am I screwed? And nah, I dont wanna do a clean install. I am a developer of many games, and I have no way to back that up on a HDD, as I do not have enough money for much right now.

In my processes, I found an exe running called "RegSrvc" that the discription is "Intel PROset/Wireless Regestry Service". Should I just close it and start the install?

If you are doing and upgrade (which is not recommended), you cannot just ignore the advice of the upgrade advisor. We must get rid of the programs that were mentioned in the report.

Has everything been removed, as advised?

What do you mean by remove? Its impossible to remove the program, as I cannot find it anywhere besides network drivers which im pretty sure SHOULDNT be deleted. If you wanna see how it looks on uninstall programs: http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/856/failwin.png . If you mean remove by restoring hdd, that should NOT be neccesary for a freaking Windows install. On my desktop upgrading from xp to vista (such a bad choice) the install ran fine. Long ago when i installed Win 7 beta on here, it ran fine. This should run fine as well, but decides not too. I dont think I should even have to delete a network program to install a god damn OS. But i want this too work, and I cannot find any solutions what so ever.

Uninstall the network driver from the Device Manager>Network Adapter>Wireless Adapter. Click on the device, then choose Driver tab and uninstall with software.

You need to update the chipset drivers from your computer maker's Support Downloads webpage for your model. Ask for installation help in Drivers forum here if you need it.

You'll also need to uninstall Daemon Tools and Itunes in the Control Panel>Programs and Features before attempting your Upgrade.

Please consider doing a clean install which is a greatly superior install to an in-place Upgrade which imports accumulated corruption. Here is how: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html You can start the clean install from Vista or boot the DVD to delete partitions, create new one(s) and format the HD before install - either way the installer will allow use of the Upgrade version key.

Alright, i reinstalled Pro Wireless and can now uninstall it. But ive read Intel Pro Wireless is responsible for your internet. I dont wanna uninstall a program responsible for my wifi lol.

EDIT: I have no DvD drive like said. I use Daemon Tools to mount the ISO of Win 7....

ANOTHER EDIT....: Well I have other ISO Mounting programs I can use. But it said i DONT need to uninstall the programs. Are you sure I need too?

If you're going to do the in-place upgrade you'll need to uninstall wireless driver until after it starts back up, then reinstall it in device manager.

Daemon Tools is not compatible with Win7. Extract the files to the desktop to run Setup, burn to DVD or write to USB flash stick: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2432-usb-windows-7-installation-key-drive-create.html You will need a bootable installer for repairs, or to do the cleanest possible clean install.

Uninstalled Net Wireless, installed Win 7, working fine.
