Freezes on all builds of 7, please help

I have a Dell Studio XPS laptop with 4 gig of ram,128 SSD and an Nvidia SLi setup.

The one thing I have noticed is that when I do a clean install there are no crashed but it is only after about 50 hours of use that the random freezes start to happen. I have tried to see any correlation to when they happen but I can't spot anything. I have run windows 7 very happily on other machines so I am thinking it must be related to the drivers provided by dell (for vista).

I have checked event logs but there is nothing there, just blank from the second the machine hangs.

All bios functions still work like screen brightness, but caps lock and things like that are frozen.

Has anyone experienced anything similar or has any ideas?

try different graphics drivers, perhaps the one given from windows update or these: NVIDIA Graphics Supercharge Microsoft Windows 7

Try the Nvidia drivers in Vista compatability mode.
My backup rig is a Dell and I always use Nvidia drivers.
Dell's bite the big one.

Ok, so it cant be the Graphics card drivers because even when I totally unistall them, and 7 is running with SVGA drivers the machine still hangs.

If I run it in Safe mode with Networking it does not freeze. What else is safe mode disabling that might be the cause of my problem?

Do you know of any good logging toold which might be able to tell em some more information. At the moment windows does not seem to be able to log anything when is freeze. (no surprise really)

Random freeze up's such as you are experiancing usually relate to Ram settings or perhaps even too low of northbridge voltage. You might try adjusting SPP and Ram voltage to help stabilize your system. In order for me to run Windows 7 I had to bump up my SPP voltage. Windows 7 was completely unstable for me until I did that.

Really, even on a laptop. I am running DDR3 in my laptop, I used to be into overclocking, but only on desktops, do you think it is really nessesary or even possible on a Dell laptop?

Currently running in safe mode to see if I can make it crash.
