Hi all, I beleive this is an error with all Acer 7535G laptops, and was wondering if there is a fix. This is the error I get; http://i48.tinypic.com/9thbmq.jpg "This device cannot start (Code 10)".
I uninstalled and reinstalled, which didn't work. I tried a fix which worked for 4550 models, which was to uninstall, go into Safe Mode and delete the drivers, then reboot and they'll automatically re-install, which they did, but the error was still there.
Is there an fix out there whatsoever? I understand the 3200 Series is supposed to work without the laptop being plugged in, and when it is plugged in, it should switch to the 4500 Series.
Sorry i can't help you but i am getting the same problem. I have the same laptop and i'm going to try a few things. I'll tell you if anything works and please tell me if you find anything
It's a bit complicated but just follow the instructions:
I don't quite know why it has worked this time as I have tried this previously as suggested on this forum (may be using I'm using a different driver this time though?) but I now have my 4750 gpu working on Win 7 64!
I then unistalled all ATI software via control panel and to ensure all evidence of it was gone I ran drive sweeper (Guru3D - Driver Sweeper) to delete any thing left.
After a restart I double clicked on the downloaded driver so it extracted to C:\ATI\Support and cancelled it before it installed.
I then installed and ran Mobility Modder and using 'browse' located the driver folder within C:\ATI\Support\.... I ensured Disable UAC box was ticked and then clicked Modify. This modifed the driver.
Once done I disabled the 3200 gpu via Device Manager and then ran the setup file in the modified driver folder (c:\ATI\Support\[Driver Folder Name]\Setup.exe) MAKE SURE YOU DO CUSTOM INSTALL NOT QUICK INSTALL.
Once this had installed I was prompted to reboot and once restarted I checked device manager and both the 3200 gpu and the 4570 gpu (it shows as ATI MOBILITY RADEON 4530/4570) are running OK (NO 'CODE 10' & NO '!')
After this, go to device manager and disable the 3200 graphics card. You will now be using the 4570
I had the same problem with my 32bit version but I think this link should help.
Go to it and follow the instructions I`ve detailed there. Just use the x64 versions instead. Am about to go 64bit myself so will let you know for sure if it`s still ok.
What my method does do is give you the fulll functionality of both cards as originally intended without having to disable anything Good luck, Stoo.
After the clean install all I did was go to the Acer win7 Upgrade disk
Open the CommonDrivers\Video_AMD_Puma_win7_x86x64_8.634 folder and run the
SetUp.exe file there. Simple as that.
As far as I can tell it works with both 32 and 64 bit OS without a hitch. CCC centre works properly and when unplugged it switches over as it should. All good.
Tara, Stoo
