manufacturing), the version Microsoft shipped in January 2007. Users can manually switch on DEP [data execution prevention] -- a move that Microsoft recommended in the security advisory it issued last week -- but without that tweak, most Windows users are open to attack, if not by the original exploit then by follow-ups
like Dai Zovi's. In fact, even DEP can be circumvented, a point the French firm Vupen Security made today. …

Although Vupen has created an exploit that works on IE8 with DEP enabled, it's not releasing the attack code to the public….

Would be nice if these people gave the same attention to other browsers and presented a balanced viewpoint.

Maybe there is no challenge. You can't KEEP Chrome from crashing, there are probably a million ways to exploit it. FF is pretty bad at that too, expecially with the zillion, poorly coded plugins of the week that everyone uses.

The continuous bias to the point of insanity presented in the press, fanboys and by governments that wouldn't know software from sand is getting really old.

True, but I think they chose IE because of it's dominance in the market.

You're right, they probably could do the same with other browsers.
