Can someone please help here.

ok File Transfer is super slow, it took 30mins to copy a 2.3gb file to USB drive.. now I'm trying to backup that file on CD and it's taking 40mins just to do that.. Do you think My HDD is going out? it' also seems like the USB Ports are running slow.. I've updated all drivers I can think of.. is there A Program that can find the problem if one... thanks for any help..

I'm running Win 7 x64
Seagate 1tb HDD 7000rpm
Gigabyte motherboard
8gb of Ram
I'm also running HDD's under AHCI

Thanks for any help

the problem might be that the drivers you downloaded and installed have been ignored. try manually installing them from device manager. there are other threads showing the same issue and there should be a tutorial on how to manually install drivers. My USB didn't work right until I manually updated the drivers using device manager> install from specific location. Not sure what your hardware is but check for the correct USB2 drivers in system devices and in the USB controller. Installing the right ones will fix your problem

how would i go about finding out what USB Drivers I need? something like that would be in the Mother chipset?
When I look under the Device manager it doesn't tell much..

If your motherboard came with a disk, there should be drivers on in that will work correctly. If not, you can find the correct drivers by going here and entering the model# for the board you have.
