Will WG111v2 ever get to work?

Hi

I'm trying to make a media center PC out of my old Dell Dimension, and everything works fine except for my Netgear WG111v2 USB WiFi.

I have tried virtually every driver I could find - from the Netgear site (only Vista drivers though), other drivers from several forums (like Sevenforums), and those Realtek drivers to the wireless chip that should be in the USB - but unfortunately those doesn't work at all for me (32-bit Windows 7 Ultimate).

Even tried to install drivers from some .inf files I unpacked, but still no result.

When running the Netgear driver install (v3.4 I think) it works fine until I am asked to connect the USB to the PC - the installer simply dissappears, but the process keeps running.

Anyone has updates or experience about this?

Thanks in advance,

Those usb wifi adapters do not work with W7. I'm a Tech for the Cable Co. and use those for wifi customers and we have confirmed they do not work with W7. Our Company (Charter Cable) has ordered new wifi adapters compatible with W7.
