How do I upgrade from 7000?

Hi

I installed Win 7 x64 on a new computer, on the last day the beta of 7000 was available. I have Windows Updates turned on, so I thought I'd be notified of beta updates, but I just checked, and I'm still on 7000.

How/where do I download updates?

And can I install them over 7000? I assume so, since I've found messages detailing which drivers needed updating after installing 7048 etc., but I do want to be sure.

This is my first post to the forum - apologies if I've asked a question that's in the archive. I did search, but didn't come up with anything. Are there FAQs anywhere?

Thanks

Mary

You have to download the newer build from torrent sites, Microsoft has not released any new ones yet and they wont until May when they release the official RC1, you can upgrade to the newest build but some people have had problems doing this so it would be best to do a clean install. Another good thing about the latest build is that it wont expire until next year.

If you don't want to burn it to a disk, download 7-Zip (despite the name, and what you're trying to do, it has nothing to do with Windows 7), and then extract the ISO to a folder on your desktop. Then when it's all done extracting, open the folder, and hit setup.exe, and this will start up the upgrade process. It will usually take longer, but i think it's worth saving a disk for something else....like bootlegging Full Albums off of mininova... I mean... i didn't say anything...

Many of the downloads in sites like [small]nova will have comments from people who have downloaded already. 1 hint is, the more comments present, the more you'll find out about the download.

Check for the Torrent reputation and suspect if download speed is extremely high for your connection.

My two cents.
