Pretty straight forward. your video driver in both.

I would download and install a fresh copy and run a system file check
to run tyoe cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow

If you are overclocking stop

Let us know the results

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
Arguments:
Arg1: c04ab528, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: c0000185, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: 48f538c0, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: 956a5fc8, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)

as always keep a backup of your critical data but with todays technology and awareness for the need to update the bios all of the motherboard manufacturers produce bios update programs that work under windows with problems becoming rarer :)

you should find one on the Acer website .........

Hey just an update, if anyone is still following this. Have tried to update the after downloading it from the acer website I had no luck. The laptop will only run properly in safe mode. If I boot up the system 'regularly' it is extremely slow, gets hot and then will just blue screen if left for too long. I have updated the video card drivers and still no luck. Beginning to contemplate reformatting but really dont want to. Any ideas would be gratefully received.

not sure what this means, where was the error, did you try more than once ?

you definitely need to update your system , and if you reinstall you will still have to do this ;)

as ken suggested have a look in device manager and find that resource hog
