win 7 ultimate clean install on a gateway laptop nv44, AHCI enabled in the bios, dual core intel, 4gig ram, 500gig hd, 8x multi drive. in both ashampoo burning 9 and the native burning app in windows 7 i am experiencing burn time that are 2x longer than that of xp. i thought that the new rig would speed thing up not slow them down.

i am unable to enable dma. i have installed intel matrix storage manager. i have reinstalled mb drivers for my intel chip set. as per http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware...ng-slow-ide-ata-atapi-controller-missing.html.

am i right in believing that 15 or 16 minutes of burn time to push 4gig on to a 8x drive excessive? how do i get my burn times up to speed?

I would say the burn times arent too bad if they are consistent - maybe you need to try some other software.
