ive installed windows 7 on my daughters desktop computer and everything seems fine except video playback,ok its an old computer see specs-
chip-athlon xp
motherboard-asrock k7s41gx
graphics -nvidia geforce 6200
memory- 1gb
hdd 160gb

i installed 7 and updated it,device manager is showing no problems and ive checked the bios and its the latest available,it currently has the graphics drivers from microsoft installed(although i did try the latest from nvidia but playback was the same) i did install cccp codec pack as i am using this on my current desktop and 2 laptops without any problems at all,but just in case i uninstalled cccp and installed sharks at the top of the forum and yet it is still the same.

oops forgot-playback of any video is stuttering the audio seems ok just the video, tried several different videos and they are all the same.

help please.

At the bottom of the settings interface installed with the Shark007 Codecs is a checkbox to use SUGGESTED settings.
Try that.

thanks for replying shark.
tried that but no difference.
im going to check what services are running see if i can shut some down and also adjust visual settings for best performance didnt have any problems with vids on xp .

edit-
ive had some joy i went back and installed the latest drivers from nvidia and used black vipers site and used the "safe" option when i disabled some services i tried an avi file again and its working fine.
decided to try bbc iplayer as well as i use that quite often and playback on that is worse than the avi's used to be,but that is a flash player so im asuming that wont be affected by your codec pack shark.

Playback of internet based video more often than not uses Adobe Flash. Recent flash content is h264 encoded and Adobe has released a beta flash version to handle this content.
Here is a direct link to the beta flash installer.

You are correct in assuming my codecs do not have anything to do with flash content because it is not based on Directshow, therefore does not use codecs.
