i M going to buy a new PC in few days.

But i m not able to decide as on which GRAPHIC CARD to buy.

i Have 2 choices :
1} ATI RADEON HD 5770
2} nVIDIA GTX 260.

Pls. dont give me any other choice as i have decided to buy any one of these cards.

ATI 5770 has DX-11 SUPPORT, EYEFINITY, etc BUT IS SLOWER THEN GTX 260 ON GAMES.

nVIDIA GTX 260 HAS
CUDA & PHSYx which is a BOON TO GAMING & ANIMATION.
i Dont think ATI has such technologies with them.

I have seen less problems reported with nvida products and have the GTX260 on my main system. I would go with the GTX260.

I've always been a GeForce fan...only ever tried one Radeon card in my life and I hated it, it was impossible to deal with overheating and the drivers issues, but they have come along with the products but I can't say and never will be able to. So go for the 260.

GeForce GTX 260:

- Slightly better all around performance.
- PhysX.
- Less driver-related issues.

Radeon HD 5770:

- Lower power consumption/temps/noise level.
- DirectX 11.
- Shorter/smaller PCB.
- Cheaper.

Another thing.

If you're willing to spend ~$200 on a GTX 260, why not just go for a Radeon HD 4890?.

Doesn't have Radeon HD 5000-series driver-related issues, and is significantly faster than any GTX 260 out there right now.

actually i agree with this..... the 4890 is faster, and is about the same price, um 5770 has some driver issues but they'll get fixed soon enough, um 260 just another nvidia card nothing really special about it

You should just ask goolge then come to your own conclusion because you will have ati fan boys loving ati and nvidia fan boys etc etc....

The question should be which am I going have more trouble with.

Pizzaman what's so special about a 4890? I happen to have one and there is nothing "special" about it. Nvidia happens to be more special because the 4890 has no physx or cuda etc etc.

What's so special about PhysX-based games?

Other than Mirror's Edge, game play isn't really affected by PhysX.

Talk to me when PhysX actually alters the way we play games.

Not to mention than most PhysX-heavy games suck.

not if you've got the power to run them....;)

OP.... this choice is gonna come down to a personal preference, whats more important to you..??, physX & an instant ''plug & play'' product or DX11 ready H/W

ATI drivers are poor, theyre getting a little better now but you have to have patience if your gonna grab the 5770.

if you buy the GTX260, driver support will be far better but its ''old hat'' now & when DX11 is more prominent we'll be back here again no doubt b/c your looking to buy a 5 series card or a Fermi offering..

if you wait a little longer NV will release Fermi & the ATI 5 series cards will drop in price (maybe not much on the 5770, but it may make the 5 series deal a bit sweeter..:))

really.......

have you played ''Batman AA'' fully maxed out (physX & settings) @ 2048x1152

have you even sampled the sheer graphical wonder that has been spawned with that game..??, its absolutley immense.

im not trying to push physX as some great ''must have'' tech, but what i am saying is it adds some very nice visuals (as long as you have the power to run them), otherwish it can bog down a system pretty quick.

i could live without it, but i think its pretty cool....

While PhysX is somewhat noticeable in Batman: Arkham Asylum (steam, fog, some destructible objects, cloth, etc), it's still not gameplay-altering. 100% eye candy.

PhysX alone is not gonna persuade me to buy an nVidia card. I'll go with the card that makes the most sense to me. If it turns out to be an nVidia card, then so be it.

Btw sorry if I came across as kind of an A-hole. It's just that this whole PhysX thing angers me. I don't understand why they just don't open-source it. It has so much potential. It would benefit us gamers like you wouldn't believe.

Well I have a good one for you guys, I have 3 Video Cards
1 x MSI N260GTX
2 x XFX HD 5770

so I looked at all the threads and everyone says to use the N260GTX

so here is my Question
would you still pick the N260GTX over using 2 x HD5770 what would be better?
