hp office jet j4550 all in one printer

i have a hp office jet j4550 all in one printer that,s four months old it worked great with vista but will not work with windows 7 i have been to the hp site and downloaded the updates that supposedly fix it but it still does,nt work can anybody help me please

Hello Pedink, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Here's something you could try:

1. Disconnect your printer from computer
2. Uninstall all HP OfficeJet drivers and software you have installed on your Win7 machine
3. Open Start > Devices and Printers
4. Click Add a printer
   
   
   
5. Click Add a local printer
   
   
   
6. Choose Use an existing port (LPT1), click Next
   
7. Choose HP on the left pane and HP Officejet J4500 series on the right pane
   
8. Click Next and follow the instructions. Connect the printer to computer only when setup asks you to do so, not before

It should work now.
