By in the browser, I mean actively using it.

I'm just wondering how much people actually use other binary desktop applications nowadays.

Right now I spend about 95% of my time in the web browser actively using it. I would be 100% if there were web-based management consoles for a domain, fast 3D games (maybe we will see this with the emergence of OnLive, WebGL, and NativeClient), and a good integrated development environment.

I'm sure there's some things I take for granted with a local desktop environment, but I could probably switch to being exclusively to the cloud easily.

thats obviously a crude estimation of course and if i counted the times i'm using my laptop for one purpose, while watching tv or streaming music through my htpc and playing a game on my desktop it would probably be much lower.
