Trillian and Forte for starters. Look in your programs folder for the rest. Plus in this day and age 10gb of space is not much, a few video clips and music files and 10Gb is gone!Ollie007 said:how can it be 30+ gb.....Windows 7 and office2007 should only be 20gb.....where can i add 10 gb of software
One additional point
due to the new security mechanisms incorporated into Windows 7 the instructions for the data locations for both Trillian and forte may not be accurate
In order to ensure security win7 is designed to not encorage the storage of user data under the Program Files tree. To ensure that older designed software still works win7 can redirect data locations to a safer user area during install.
To be sure that you have all of your data for these programs please check the contents of your user AppData and the system ProgramData folders for folders related to the applications
AppData is a hidden system folder under the users\usrname\...... tree
ProgramData is a hidden system folder under the root of the system drive
to see these folders you will need to show hidden files and to deselect the hide protected operating system files in explorer - (organise, folder and search options, view)
Forgot all about that. Thanks BarmanBTW ollie007, I'm probably going to hate myself for asking but what disaster will befall you in the stated 17 hours time?

Expiry of win7 rc 7100 - 2 hour shutdown phase
Not a total disaster but good policy not to get caught as the shutdowns will not save any live data
It can be a disaster; starting today, RC build 7100 shuts down every two hours without saving the open data in any application, so depending on what you are doing it can be nothing or a total disaster.
