xbox 360 won't detect PC

This problem is really frustrating. I have been using media centre without problems and all of a sudden I cannot connect my Xbox 360 to the PC. The PC can see the xbox OK, but the XBOX refuses to find the PC. I cannot run media centre or any sharing app in xbox. I have looked at loads of forums and this is a really common problem. trouble is they all give different solutions and I have tried all of them. Firewalls are all OK, all the right ports are open, sharing is setup OK etc etc . The only thing I have changed over the last couple of months is the workgroup name. But I changed it back again when I noticed the problem, and this has not sorted it out either.

You need to reauthorize your xbox. In media center on the xbox make a new connection, take note of the 8 numbers, go to your pc and add an new extender in media center, feed it the 8 digit, wait about a minute....this should do the trick

The fact that you messed with the workgroup had that consequence. The UID used by the xbox360 is not the same anymore even though you changed the workgroup for the same name.

hope this helps
