So I download the game and I make it in after a few driver updates but it is still very choppy... i'm running:

Processor= AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 4200+ (2 cpus) ~2.2 Ghz
Video card= NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT
Chip type= GeForce 7950 GT with 512.0 MB of memory

I'll be honest i'm not to good with CPUs but i'm looking to solve a problem that someone can hopefully help me with. Thank you! Let me know if you need more info.

EDIT: I changed my in-game resolution and it's much better, but its still a little choppy any ideas why?

have you tried putting the graphics setting on low?
your specs seems to meet the minimal system requirements for the game.
but recommended is better ;)

try some of the tweaks stickied at the BBC2 PC Forums

turn down stuff to medium/low in your settings.ini (explained in the Tweaks / Help / "Fixes" post in the above forum) and then use fraps to check fps and see how that helps your framerates

and keep a lookout for some upcoming driver releases that will hopefully have some BBC2 optimizations

i found that disabling 'hbao' gave me a good fps boost...it's worth a try.

this game uses DICE's frostbite graphics engine, originally developed for consoles. it doesn't seem to be very well optimised for pcs as yet. :(

Bad Company is poorly optimized. Also, since sound is also done in the cpu instead of passing it off to your sound card, it pays to have 3 or 4 cores, or a really really strong dual core. Unfortunately, Athlons just aren't strong enough, even when overclocked, to give you decent play. A friend of mine recently upgraded to an i7 after we had this same discussion and now he's running great. He thought his Opteron 185 at 3GHz would have been sufficient, but it wasn't, even though he has a gtx 260.

Wolfdale dual cores, on the other hand, seem to fair much better. At 3GHz with an 8800 gts I was struggling and had to play on all low settings; at 4GHz play was great and I was able to up a few settings. I've since upgraded to a 5850 and was able to drop my clocks back down to 3.6GHz; game play is still great.
