Hi Darrin, your situation is just like newbie. So post no #9 of this thread : http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/70074-my-local-disk-icon-already-changed-2.html may help you a lot. Moreover if you want a detailed operation, you may go through the tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/73191-icons-change-using-resource-hacker.html#post642539 . Somehow you got the imageres.dll file corrupted.

Try either the way stated in post#9 or in the tutorial. Hope it will be solved. Post the result back .... whichever it may be :)

Hi Arc,I'll try the tutorial ,see if it works for me.
One other question, any idea what could cause this?
Read somewhere that Alien GUI could do this.
I installed this prog but didnt like the changes it made and removed it.

You got the ide, pal.
When you installed alien gui, you installed the alien icons with it. And when you deleted the icons, it caused the damage in imageres.dll.

Even if you apply Stardock Iconpackager, and uninstall it without returning to the default, you will get the same result. You must to agree that at last we love the windows icons :) .

Try the tutorial, but I dont know whether you have the system icons or not. The necessary icons are uploaded in post #9 of the thread Both of us linked; and if you want something more, let me know, I will arrange it.

Icon #36 replaced by #35, #32 by #31, #37 by #36, and , what is your G,H, I and L drives? Whatever it may be, it should be #43. I am supplying those icons, try to change them using resource hacker. It must to work.
