Definitely post your specs. In addition, what exactly is the problem with the game "not running"? Does it not install? Not launch? Can't save progress?

I was having a problem with AA running due to not being able to log into GFWL through the game (could log in directly before launching, but this did not translate over to the game). I called up GFWL Support and they guided me through enabling some services which GFWL needs to be running in order for the game to work. Unfortunately, I did not write them down so I can't tell you what they are, but if you are having problems with not being able to save or with the game taking an excrutiatingly long time to load, give them a ring and have them help. They knew exactly what the issue was and had me up and running in a few minutes.

Make sure you have Nvidia physics installed. Even though it does not say it, this game REQUIRES a physics capable gfx card. Its one of the few games that do.

WRONG. Check the stuff on radeon cards. I know my 4850 says Physics capable in the details. Thats all it needs, but I know Nvidia uses physx.

And just to back it up http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_physxgames_home.html
It can run without it but it needs a physics capable card.

Are we talking PhysX or Physics?

Watch Arkham Asylum come to life with NVIDIA® PhysX™ technology! You’ll experience ultra-realistic effects such as pillars, tile, and statues that dynamically destruct with visual explosiveness. Debris and paper react to the environment and the force created as characters battle each other; smoke and fog will react and flow naturally to character movement. Immerse yourself in the realism of Batman Arkham Asylum with NVIDIA PhysX technology.

Ummm... no, it doesn't. And not too bad for us ATI folks. There is an option in the BMLauncher to toggle PhysX, so we are not out of luck. When it doesn't see a PhysX enabled card, it sets itself to off, and away it goes. You can even force PhysX, but it warns against it.
Code:
Your hardware does not support NVIDIA(TM) Hardware Accelerated PhysX(TM).
Performance will be severely reduced without dedicated hardware.

Haven't tried to force it yet, since it looks great on my 5850 and runs smooth at max settings. Very realistic. And if, for any reason, an ATI user does feel the need to run PhysX, they can always buy an add-on card to achieve the desired result. But it would have to be a pretty big wall to get me to do that, esp. for only a handful of games, only one of which I own.

I do agree with you that the graphics and environment are amazing. One of the best I have seen to date.

Not to bad. I have played physx needing games with my 4850 and the game installed physx drivers to my pc. IRONIC. But I have a Geforce integrated graphics processor so it probably worked.

Heroxoot, are you actually seeing PhysX effects during gamplay with your integrated graphics processor?

I finally found a demo that shows the difference between what the game looks like with PhysX and w/o (no spoilers on this one), so I now know what I have been missing:

As some of the comments state "OMG!!! now I cant imagine a [game] whitout the DYNAMIC PAPER!!!!!" While I do admit that the effects are pretty damn cool, it still does not make me rethink my purchasing of an otherwise superior ATi card. Nor does it incline me to pick up an nVidia card and attempt to force Hybrid PhysX on my system (but thanks to GenL for all his work in this department). It also makes me wonder a bit why the dev decided to not write non-PhysX code for PhysX based items (I am specifically referring to the hanging banners in the Intensive Treatment level). That is the real gyp for ATi owners.

I still plan on forcing PhysX on my system just to see how it will respond/perform. Just been having too much fun with it otherwise!
