Win 7 Drive Name?

hi ppl

need a little help here pls

I have Installed win 7 ultimate on my D: drive which is installed perfectly with out any trouble, On my C: Drive i have Win Xp Pro Sp3.

Now when i boot my PC i got 2 options

Earlier Windows
Windows 7

So i logon to windows 7 and everything gose fine till i see the drive name. It shows as C: drive (not reading it D: )which is really makin me confuse

My question is why it is Reading it as C: instead of D:

pls help me out how can fix this

The drives letters are changed by the booted OS.

The booted OS will always be on the C:\ drive. The other OS will be on the D:\ drive (probably). Nothing to worry about.

Yes, drive letters are variable. For example, I have multiple external hard drives. If I disconnect one that was connected a H: and then connect another, the next hard drive will connect as H: as long as the letter is available (i.e. not in use). Some devices will retain their drive letters, ie. My OS X partition is always I: in Win7, my two readyboost drives are always G: and J:.
