Can folders default the View to: "LIST", not Detail?

When I open a folder in 7, unless I previously set it to a specific view setting, it seems to always auto default to "Detail" unless I change it manually.

Is there an easy way to make folders default to LIST automatically when I open them each time?

Thanx.

If you set it to "Documents" in the library properties, it should show as list.

You can set the default view for each template to use list mode...

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11356-folder-view-apply-all-folders.html

Change folder to General Items Template
Right Click Folder > Properties > Customize > Change Template

Now switch to List view

Now apply to all folders
Organize > Folder & Search Options > View > Apply to All Folders

Do that with each template and it should set every folder to list view. You'll have to manually change to something else if you want.
