New Laptop Crash/Blue-Screen frequent (Windows7 64bit)

New member
I bought and used this laptop for 2weeks, and it was fine at 1st, with couple of not so great improvement compared to my previous old laptop but lately I been getting random crashed where I would be doing something (which is different every crash almost) and it would pop up this black/blue screen with multicolored dots/lines all over so I cant read the message on the "blue-screen". And I'm not sure what's the problem at all. And because I am on WoW alot more, I thought at 1st, WoW was crashing me but I later it happened when I was on Skype and also just regular browsing on the web and even facebook games and I think it happened before when I just turned on the laptop..

I'll provide a dxdiag, I hope this tells you something but I'm not very good at computers I really don't know how else or what else to do >.<I downloaded the SF Diagnostic Tool v2.02 and ran it as Admin, but the file is empty, not sure if CCleaner programed cleaned it or something went wrong somewhere.. Anyone help?

Hi Ken

thanks for the reply, I was aware of the minidump needed as I tried downloading the tool from this form and personally searched for it. I also checked that its checked that it would create a .dmp thing like I read from somewhere else. But I too is mind boggled on to why or where it disappeared to or why it din't log it. The folder is there, but its empty.. Is there any other way I could provide more details besides via minidump?

**Edit:
CCleaner comfirmed they cleaned dump files and I just unchecked it from the program :( Wish i knew earlier >.<

I finally unchecked the option in CCleaner and manage to get the minidump from yesterday's BSOD and some pics of it.

Of course. that one BSOD was caused by your USBhub. you need to re-install the driver for that external Hub

Similar problem

Hi I have similar problem with unreadable BSOD just like in previous screenshots. Im running 64bit version of win 7 and

have ATI mobility Radeon HD 5650 GPU. It`s very strange, BSOD occurrs sometimes 4x a day and sometimes not at all. It

doesn`t matter if I`m running some callenging graphic application or not. I`m attaching dumpfile.

Have you tried doing what i put in my last post?

The USB drivers wont cause the funny looking display but could have caused the BSOD.

Try what i posted and get back to us. :)

Well same like Matqo it sometimes doesn't occured at all. Sometimes I get it 6 times a day but I'm pretty sad the old other BSOD dmp files were gone so this is only one. It may be one of the cause but not all.

Also u said the USB won't cause the funny looking display.. so what did?

BSOD readable

Hi fellas, I`ve fixed unreadable BSOD by installing newest catalyst utility from ATI : here. It fixed coloured dots, but doesn`t help fix the issue. It still crashes down randomly, maybe more often than before, but not sure :D

tezlewis : i think its exactly what you mentioned. I`ve tried reinstalling with drivers from acer webas first thing but doesn`t help.

I think graphic was causing the unreadable dots, but not error itself.

Your 7F bugcheck has Usual causes: Memory corruption, Hardware (memory in particular), Installing a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or a failure after installing it, Device drivers, SCSI/network/BIOS updates needed, Improperly seated cards, Incompatible storage devices, Overclocking, Virus scanner, Backup tool, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack
.

I would therefor download memtestx86 burn it to cd and run it for at least 5 passes.

So repair any corrupt system files I would run a system file check
(type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow)

Let us know the results
