Everest always makes UAC popup on startup

How do I allow everest to run, without having the UAC popup when loading Win7 RC?

Running Everest 5.01.1715. I did the Task scheduler trick, but that didn't fix the problem, and want to continue to run UAC.

Hello Gizbug, and welcome to Seven Forums.

After you have created the task to run Everest elevated at startup, did you disable the original startup entry for Everest in startup programs? If not, that one will still load at startup with the UAC prompt.

don't see that listed in startup under the program menu
Should I unceck "start everest at startup" within the options of Everest?

Have you checked to see if it may be listed in msconfig (System Configuration) or the registry?

Unchecking that option should remove it to though. :)

Any other ideas to get Everest working without the UAC popup, but leaving UAC on?

If this is the Task Scheduler trick that you used below, then I do not of anything that you can try other than turning UAC off. You might contact Eversest to see it is a known issue, and if they have a update or workaround for it.

NOTE: Create a task to Start a program (Step 20) with the program's EXE file, check Run with highest privileges (Step Four), and have it set to be triggered at startup (Step Five).
