Is Windows Repair the way to install an Intel ICH10R driver for AHCI? I know in Windows XP, I used to be able to do a late driver install using the Install Repair function if I missed in in the F6 location at the start of an install. Is this the same in Windows 7?

Also, how do I log on to an administrator account when I start Windows 7?

Many thanks, Noel

severedsolo,

You know, that's exactly what I did earlier today when a friend gave me this hint from the Microsoft web site, and it does work to install AHCI drivers... however, doesn't this install MS AHCI drivers? I'm trying to set up my SSDs and from the Windows 7 tutorial on SSDs, I get the impression that I need to install the Intel, not MS, AHCI drivers. That would mean a clean install and loading the Intel drivers at the beginning (eg, F6 prompt).

Is there any difference, or am I OK with these drivers for my SSD?

And thanks either way for your help,

Noel
