Wonder Man
After extensive Beta testing and without the previous "a-squared" in the name: Emsisoft Anti-Malware 5.0 is here. This anti-virus suite has won many awards and uses two scanners, a behavioral analysis module and a surfing protection module to protect Windows PCs. The new version is fully x64 compatible, drastically simplifies the user interface and is now even more suitable for PC beginners looking for a high quality security solution. A new feature of Anti-Malware 5.0 is a file guard that scans files when they are downloaded or accessed, which advances the product to a full anti-virus system.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware 5.0 released! New file guard - full x64 support - new game mode - hundreds of detail improvements

hi !

one really BIG problem in my opinion is that a2 AUTOMATICALLY UPGRADES to v5 without asking for permission !?

so if you are also running other A/V´s then you might have to change the settings for the "File Guard" to avoid conflicts, select "Scan on Execution", then it works (almost) as in v4.5.

if it slows down your PC then also mark "Scan the following filetypes" and then REMOVE dll-files from the list, then it works as v4.5 did.
other users have already reported problems with this on Emsisoft´s own forum...

http://support.emsisoft.com/forum/7-a-squared-anti-malware-mamutu/

an answer i got regarding compatibility:
------------------------------------
"As for your question there were no conflicts reported with Avira & Kaspersky (except its proactive part sometimes). Please see our compatibility threads in the old forum.

Another thing to consider – any upgrades / new versions of security can bring “surprises”

I personally tested Avira though all cycle of Emsisoft beta 5 on win 7 x64. There were no issues."

i´m using Avast & a2 (now EAM) at the moment, and for the few hours i used v5 yesterday i didn´t notice any real problems except an unusually high memory usage for a2,
but i´m going to do some more tests later today when i get home from the university...
