Continuosly disconnecting and reconnecting

My laptop is continuosly disconnecting and reconnecting to the internet. The connection might start stable for like an hour after starting my laptop and then disconnect for a second or two and immediately reconnect and again work fine for a while. Or sometimes right after starting my laptop the on/off circus starts immediately and I need to reboot. The connection is never gone for more than a few seconds and works fine when it, well, works :/

This started to occurr after I switched from Comodo firewall/antivirus to the built in windows 7 firewall & Microsoft security essentials. My idea was to keep my pc as "default" as possible and felt like it was stupid to let the built in firewall just rot in there since it supposedly is prefectly fine for a normal user.

I had problems with uninstalling Comodo and I believe some traces are still left. It's unbelievable how hard they have made it to uninstall hehe :). Perhaps it's Comodo's ghost's doings?

And yeah I'm using wlan and wlans are famous for not working but it has always worked for me before. Modem is Telewell EA510 I believe. I know how to change/access its settings if needed but got no idea what to change if thats the problem. Got 24mb connection.

I'd really like to keep using the built in firewall & security essentials so help me oh wise ones! I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

the best thing for you pc is to let it stand on it feet without any additional helper because sometimes those additional helper who might help messed up your pc. and talk about hard time uninstalling comodo. do you uninstall it fine from add/remove ?

No it wouldn't remove by using add&remove and the installation folder didn't contain uninstaller  There're a lot of threads about it floating the internet. Anyways I manually just deleted the folder and everything comodo related I found. I was so fed up with the whole thing that I just let it be back then.

Yeah I think I've seen that thread before, thanks. I'll dig into it once I have more time.

What if Comodo isn't causing this? Any chance something's messed up with my firewall?

There are now traces of Comodo that I could find. My connection still keeps going on and off randomly :(

I just now noticed that a service called seaport.exe was being very active (internet connection wise :P ) and after some googling I came to the conclusion that I should disable it.

More suggestions please and thanks to all who have helped so far!
