i read through the first 5 pages lookin for this thread but was unable to find one. i got a new HD hannspree monitor a little while back and noticed a while later that if i ever need to reboot, the power light goes orange like its in power saving mode, but it wont wake up when the computer does, i have to physically turn it off and back on. ive tried swapping the drivers out for it but didnt seem to have any effect, im not entirely sure the video driver has anything to do with the monitor shutting off.

thanks for the help.

The video driver provides the signal to keep the monitor out of standby so if it is corrupted somehow it might not be able to come out.

check the driver in device manager
