Annoying Ghost In Build 6956

Older But No Wiser
Right next to the Start button this "ghost" sits, sometimes large, sometimes small...probably related to whatever I have down there but the fact that it exists is annoying. I can't send feedback as I don't have an activated copy of this OS.

I also suffer from ''the ghost in the machine''...lol on 6956 now & again ....:cry:

sometimes when i minimize a window it will only let me move the cursor inside an 800x600 radius..?? i.e. i run 1680x1050 & everything looks fine but i cant use the full screen...

the area highlighted is all i can use when it goes the way of the pear......lol

I also accidentally activated the magnifier and couldn't see anything "through" it...LOL

I think 6956 is a dud version personally.

I also used Timernuke to avoid activation timeout and now I read elsewhere that it makes Windows "not genuine".....hmmm.

Another annoying thing I noticed....
When you right-click a file, depending on the file's name, you get extra SPACE on the left side of the context menu...

Also, when you copy a file, you can't right-click a folder and choose Paste, you have to actually open the folder and PASTE inside it.

Wow, sometimes it happened to me also. I can't remember exactly when but actually when right click something in the StartMenu

I had seen the menu thingy a couple times, but hasn't happened since I changed the menus to open to the left of the pointer. Just tried the copy/ paste thing and I can't paste into a folder either.

I think I found what the Extra Space is, and this must happen to all of you 6956 testers...

It only happens to files in the Libraries... other files in c:\ or Desktop or other folders don't do this.

My assumption: Microsoft will try to include an icon or description on the left pane of the context menu for library items, but it's incomplete or missing in the version yet.

Hmm, I got that weird space to the left when I installed winrar on my old build 6801. Removing it resolved the issue; I installed 7zip instead. So far I've had no strange or buggy issues with 6956, besides a small oddity with boot times. No ghosts. And I'm running on Nvidia too.

I cannot reproduce either of the symptoms on three very different computers. The worst is with an old AGP ATI 9600 pro?

Fwiw. You can send feedback to Microsoft, even with an unactivated copy. You are limited in what you can say. Just click the Feedback tool and cancel the message. You then have the full availability.

YES IT IS CONFIRMED!

Winrar context handling causes the extra space on the left!

Removing it solves it...
