I have just purchased an HP Pavilion dv4-1225dx laptop, and this is the one time I like the software that has come pre-installed (HP Mediasmart software) And so, by doing a clean install, ill lose the webcam software (mediasmart component) and the other stuff I have on there (Installing WoW again and downloading updates..not doing it again).

I tried the upgrade feature and it hung at 18% for a while and I gave up on it (Second line on the install screen, I forget what it says it is) So I was wondering if it is normal for it to han ga little while doing an upgrade from an OEM version of Vista or just upgradeing in general..?

I have desktop with the Home Premium 64bit OEM operating system and tried the upgrade route several times and it always gets an error just before the end. I did try a clean install and Windows 7 installed fine. Maybe it is an OEM upgrade problem? Anyways sometimes you need to just bite that bullet and do a clean install.
