I have just gone from windows 7 rc1 back to windows vista x64 sp2, and I have to say I think vista sp2 is faster not just booting but desktop windows aswell also has more compatibility with software I use. For the time being im going to use vista untill the official windows 7 is released by then all software apps should be supported.

Anyone else compared the two? which do you think is better?

I didn't notice much difference either with Vista x64 SP2, but Windows 7 still feels better even if I can't play COD4 MP.

I was using Vista SP2 64x and had problems copying large files across the network and also downloading large files from the internet. Would always hang up soon into the downloads/copy. Tried many posted fixes for the problem but nothing would work. I couldn't even backup the machine to my Windows Home Server because of the network issue. Installed Win7 7100 64X in a dual boot on the same hardware, same network connections and it worked great without any problems. I checked the network drivers and both Win7 and VistaSP2 were using the exact same driver but Vista would still hang and Win7 would work. I removed Vista and have gone to Win7 and now my WHS can backup by machine without any problems and all my network issues are a thing of the past. I have no idea what they have done with the networking but I do know that it corrected the problem I had and I will not look back towards Vista land. :D
