Does anyone know how to make a web page a wallpaper, just like in the days of Windows XP? There must be a way to do this. Thanks in advance,

Rockworthy

If you look at Personalization > Change Desktop Icons, the tab would normally be there. It's not there so I presume they took out this function.

Yes, MS seems to have taken away this feature. I suspect they were worried about "security". 2 steps forward and 1 step back.....the normal MS upgrade model.

Active Desktop became obsolete and nothing but useless when gadgets and the sidebar was introduced in Windows Vista. It has been removed when Windows Vista shipped. And honestly, there is no point in Microsoft maintaining something hardly anyone used.

This makes me sad. They should bring something like this back, especially with web developers making Metro apps now.

WebGL on my desktop? Yes, please!

No! Bad bad idea. Not just from a security standpoint.
WebGL is its own security nightmare on its own as well.
