Security Tab Missing

1. Open regedit.exe
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\ShellEx\PropertySheetHandlers
3. Add a new key with the name below:
   
   {1F2E5C40-9550-11CE-99D2-00AA006E086C}

Make sure Simple File Sharing is enabled.

Start | Folder Options | View under there looks for Use Simple File Sharing and uncheck that and Hit OK then see if your able to see it.

Hey all,

I've been having this same problem - I want to restore the Security tab. This advice from Capt Jack looks like it might solve the problem, but... I can't find "Use Simple File Sharing" in my Start - Control Panel - Folder Options - View! I thought it might be the check box "Use Sharing Wizard (Recommended)", but that hasn't helped. In case it matters, I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit.

Thanks, but I figured out the problem - the hard disk was FAT32, and the Security tab is only an option on NFTS. The "Use Simple File Sharing" is the same as "Use Sharing Wizard (Recommended)" after all.
