Got a recently bought laptop not long ago. And installed Warcraft Frozen Throne, not World of Warcraft just to be clear. Ok so I get this random lag spikes in game, it basically lasts like 5-8 seconds. I don't why. It gets me frustrated while playing with my friends. I updated my directx, turn off my anti virus and search for viruses(found none), adjusted the compatability to windows xp(service pack 3) and adjusted game and video display of the game. And still have lag spikes in the game. I've been in different forums and no one has helped me out.

My brother has an 4 year old pc and has an os of windows xp and he plays Warcraft Frozen Throne perfectly fine.

If you're using a wireless connection while gaming, these lag spikes are likely due to the period when Windows "searches" the area for connections. The service is called Wireless Zero. I haven't had much luck searching for information on it in Windows 7, so it could be that Microsoft fixed the problems and this isn't the cause. However, in the case that it is, you can use this program to turn it off.

WLAN Optimizer

Note: I've never used this program and haven't scanned it for malware/viruses. Run a thorough scan before using.
