How to hide System Reserved in listing of drives?

I just reformatted my HD and installed W7-64 Ultimate again. Since I have been using W7, I know most of the tweaks, but don’t recall how I fixed this one. When in Windows Explorer, under Computer, I see all of my hard drives, but also see a drive for System Reserved. What tweak do I need so that I don’t see the system reserved?

I'm not sure there is a tweak for that? The only place I have ever seen that partition show up is in the Disk Management window. On my 7x64 PC it doesn't have a drive letter in the disk management window, if yours does maybe that is why it shows up under my computer? Theog's post may help you out with that, just be careful what you do in disk management. You might want to make a system repair disk, if you haven't already, just in case.

I just wonder if I select "remove" will it only remove the drive letter assigned to it and not the physical drive? And what if it does remove the physical drive? Is it really needed?
Yes, I will make a backup before I do all that. I use Acronis and will just make an image of the whole drive.

If you are in the "Change drive Letter and Paths for System Reserved" window I would think it will just remove the drive letter. Mine doesn't have a drive letter so Change and Remove are grayed out. Mine shows "Healthy (System, Active Primary Partition), I don't think I would be able to boot into windows if I removed it.

Remove the drive letter in Disk Mgmt. to hide SysReserved in Explorer.

You can remove the System Reserved partition if it bothers you, but it requires recovering the System MBR into Win7 partition. Better to leave it alone since it also conveniently places the Repair Console on the Advanced Boot Tools list accessed by tapping F8 at bootup.
 
If you wiped out the entire drive before you installed the OS, you shouldn't be seeing this partition, and it shouldn't have been assigned a drive letter. Regardless of how you installed, if you just remove the drive letter, you should be fine.
