As you'll see in the attachment i uploaded. Some icons such as "grooveshark" "albumplayer" etc, dont display a full sized icon like firefox does. I've tried making icons a blowing them up to 256x256 but no luck. How do i get nice big icons like firefox?

Thanks

The reason you have some small icons is most likely that the software programs maximum icon size is 48x48 a.k.a WinXP. On your desktop you are seeing a mix of icon sizes.
If you want larger icons on your desktop you'll have to make a 256x256 and then change your shortcut icon.
I always make my new icons with the "Win7" sizes and use them to replace the software's icons in the exe file.

Making new shortcut's didnt work. even with new 256x256 icons they still get displayed tiny. Are you using any special program to make your new icons?

Can I just ask:-
When you make your new icon, what sizes do you include in the new icon?
When you've made the icon where do you put it/what do you do with it?

I use Axialis IconWorkshop for making icons, a free trial through the link. IcoFX, as a free program is also quite good.

One more thing, you more than likely need to refresh your icon cache before the new icons will show.
Make sure you can see hidden files and folders. GoTo C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Local and delete the file IconCache.db. Then re-boot.
