Win7 browsers freeze

My browser experience these days is somewhat unnerving. When I start my PC and start browsing with IE8, it freezes and shuts down. Sometimes I get a message that reads more or less like: browser stopped working and shuts down. This, however, is not exclusive to IE, it also happens with Firefox and Safari, which I use depending on the websites I access.

I believe that the problem is due to Adobe Flash Player 10. I was forced to update to version 10 because a website wouldn't open a page unless I had upgraded. Prior to that I had no problems with any of the browsers.

I know --or have read-- that Firefox is having hicups with 10.

Is it possible that the problem is Flash Player? If it is, how can I fix this issue? I don't think I can downgrade to a previous version because the website would not allow me to see the content.

Thank you.

Roxy

The exact wording of Internet Explorer message is:
Internet Explorer has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Please close the program.
Then you click on the green arrow Close the program box.

When you update flash try this: http://news.cnet.com/seven-steps-to-update-the-adobe-flash-player-on-windows/ (Basically it says to uninstall the old version first with Adobe's latest uninstall file and then visit the regular install web page; don't forget to uncheck the extra toolbar offer.)

Many difficult IE8 problems can be cured with a reset: Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/ Reset
