story:

Okay so here's what happened, I Was working on photoshop one day and when i was trying to do more CPU hungry things on it (evan cropping) the screen started to flicker black and come right after 10 seconds OR evan flicker then turn off. One day it started flickering and then turned off, I just though ahh damn... But then the moniter didn't come on so i tryed another moniter and it didn't work either.

I Connected the moniter to the onboard VGS port (well the blue cord / port thing) and that worked fine.

What i didn't relise is the computer was now using the onboard graphics card instead of nvidia. (NOW MY WINDOWS RATING HAS GONE FRO 5.6 TO 3.3 BECAUSE OF GRAPHCIS CARD)

I Have 2 monitors now so i relised i have to fix this problem so i can connect them to my nvidia card.

--

I took it to people who fix computers they put it in another machine and it worked fine.

--

NVIDIA CARD WILL NOT SHOW UP IN DEVICE MANAGER

TRYED INSTALLED LATEST DRIVER BUT IT SAYS "The NVIDIA Setup program coult not locate any drivers that are compatible with your currect hardware. Setup will now exit."

So when you took it to these computer repair people, iit worked? Cause to me it sounds like it overheated and might have burned out. Download SIW. Open it up and check in the hardware section. Its the most accurate free program I've ever used. There should be a section for GPU (graphic processing unit).

Let us kknow if its there,
Ben

I agree it sounds like the card burnt....

Question about this bit:
I Connected the moniter to the onboard VGS port (well the blue cord / port thing) and that worked fine.
You HAVE plugged the Monitor back into the card and disabled On board Video from your BIOS right?

Can I suggest looking at Lordbobs excellent Tutorial here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/80392-graphics-card-install-new-card.html and following the steps outlined, as if you were fitting a new card.

did these people show you that your card worked ? cause they could have said yeah and jacked you which would suck

also option b find a friend that has a spare card to test in your board if it functions definelty the card is done and you need to seek other ventures

i don't know if it's burnt or whatever.

i gave it to the computer fix company for 2 days...they said "we put it in another computer and it worked just fine"

i don't know how to try it in another computer myself..and don't really want to do that.

also that stupid computer fix company re installed my windows 7 to a ungenuine one! i had to buy it again!!!

The same way you disabled it :) It should be a simple option in the BIOS.

When you boot your PC will say "press <whatever> key to enter the BIOS" (normally F2 or delete) from there you should be able to find the option. (I think its under Advanced Chipset or something, I can't remember off the top of my head exactly.) To reenable it, just do it again.

If you dont really know what your doing, I would suggest take it to a proper PC Repair shop, those guys sound like a right bunch of cowboys
