edit: whoa .. my Core temps are 55+*C jsut loading the mod pack. ...

It happened again overnight when I was sleeping. I had left open Chrome, watching a Twitch stream .. nothing CPU/GPU intensive at all.

BSoD dump looks almost exactly as before.

Yep the memory interface. The 256bit interface can process data faster than the 192bit. Just from the Passmark benchmark numbers, 2721 vs 1887, the 560 is almost 50% faster/better then the 550ti.

I'd think this might be the case .. your motherboard is only rated at PCIe 1.0A .. and the video card is PCIe 2.0 or maybe 2.1. Most 2.0 cards should work in older 1.0A slots, but many 2.1 cards do...
