Nonono! But I did get it working with regedit. My problem is that the User Accounts applet will not open... probably some bug due to the beta status. Thanks anyway :)

....duh. And, of course, moments after I wrote this, I right-clicked on the desktop, show desktop icons. Mmmmyeah. But there *is* something different, because I didn't hide them this way...

I have the leaked beta installed. Somehow, last night I managed (win+D? Not sure) to hide all my desktop items - shortcuts, system...
