Very well, that is a good point, I have never used a repair install with Windows 7, is it similar to the XP repair or can it be run from within the windows 7 environment?

Thank you for your reply karlsnooks, I have not yet reset the BIOS either if you think that would somehow affect the shutdown process. I am not getting BSOD anywhere other than the error message...
