I don't have any language packs installed other than english.
I'm not sure this old laptop is worth the $$$ to upgrade the ram. I only use it for web browsing anyway. My desktop PC has 8GB....

Nope, same thing. I had to set to reopen tabs on startup again but after doing the above and it seemed worked once but next time the two processes were left behind again.

The computer froze at 17%, the beginning of stage 4 of 5, verifying file data, every time.
I ran Seatools from dos. It passed the drive on the short and long tests.
