To do a reinstall on the same partition usually what I do is make single folder , call it "backup", then place all the files I want to keep in there. Use cut and paste, not copy and paste to put them...

For devices that are disappearing go into power options and advanced settings, change USB selective suspend to disabled.

Also make sure in device manager that windows does not have the devices...

You extract the file with winrar. It will extract but some files will be corrupt since the iso is not finished. You can then check the properties on the files that are not corrupt.
